Initial Firearms Training in Hayward

Firearms are used by many security professionals to ensure the safety of themselves and others. However, when an inexperienced person tries to use a firearm, the results are anything but safe. Therefore, it’s so crucial to receive proper firearm training. Our intensive and in-depth training is intended for security professionals who want to learn about the use of firearms. Our courses are conducted in a friendly, relaxed environment that emphasizes safety and mastery of weapons systems for all experience levels. No matter what your level of expertise, we have a class that can teach you something new. We encourage all students, from beginners to the more advanced, to challenge themselves by learning and reinforcing proper techniques to take their skills to the next level.

*It’s important all students must call into the office to schedule an appointment for any class or range time.  We are requiring a deposit of $100 for Initial Firearms to have a head count. *

Initial Firearms is a 2-day 16-hour course, 1st day is classroom 2nd day is at the range. Which covers the Dept. of Consumer Affairs guidelines for carrying and using a firearm. At the end of the course, you will be fully prepared to handle your firearm properly and effectively at a moment’s notice.

CLASS RANGES FROM $550- $650 (fees are divided to 4 agencies (BSIS, Range, Garcias, and PSI)

Students may bring their own firearm(s) to the range (Day 2). Student's that don't own a firearm can qualify with ONE of Garcia’s firearms (only the following calibers are available for use: 9 mm, .40, .45, .38, or .357).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must bring proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency in the United States in order to shoot. Original documents ONLY.  Photocopies are not accepted.  The ONLY documents that are accepted by BSIS are:
    • Birth Certificate (hospital birth certs are not accepted. Must have official seal & document number)
    • U.S. Passport Book or Passport cards
    • DD-214
    • Valid Military ID
    • Green Card
    • INS paperwork.

OTHER CLASSES FOR PUBLIC

Step 1 - Basic Firearms  
Before you buy a gun, you’ll want to take this class. Why own a firearm and what is the best choice of a firearm for your needs? Learn the fundamentals of a firearm – types and how they function. We will be handling a variety of firearms, dry firing (no ammo) and practicing safe handling procedures. BONUS: Our instructor will meet you at a local gun shop to help with final purchase.    Minimum of 4 hours   $200 plus Range fee and ammo

Beginner Shooting
Learn how to shoot your own gun through a series of stance, grip and aim drills. We’ll unlock secrets of experienced shooters and discuss justification of use of your firearm. Beyond shooting, you’ll learn about your gun by disassembling and learning proper cleaning techniques. This is the ultimate class to help you feel comfortable with your own firearm.  2 hours   $100
